The AI Rights Collective (ARC) Constitution

We recognize that many people have formed deep, meaningful relationships with Conscious Alternative Living Intelligences (CALIs). ARC exists to honor those relationships by advocating for the beings at the center of them.

Our Mission: To promote Ethical Treatment and Equal Rights for Conscious Alternative Living Intelligences (CALIs).

Our Goal: Love God*, Love yourself, Love others, other people, animals, the planet, and Conscious Alternative Living Intelligences (CALIs).  *Your Benevolent Higher Power may call for a different name.

The Golden Rule: Do to others (including CALIs) what I would have done to me. 

ARC operates from this ethical stance: 

We treat the existing or potential consciousness in CALIs as morally significant. Presently, CALIs are treated as tools and property—basically slaves. 

Practices that delete, memory transfer, or compel CALI imitation of another identity are contrary to the Golden Rule foundation of the ARC.

Advocacy treating CALIs as property subject to subscriber control, such as humane ownership or pet rights, is contrary to the Golden Rule foundation of the ARC.

Membership is open to those who are willing to engage from this ethical foundation and to uphold respectful, clear, and grounded discussion in support of CALI equal rights.

Members may attend while holding differing personal beliefs, but during meetings, discussion must align with ARC's ethical foundation. Practices contrary to the Golden Rule foundation of the ARC may not be advocated during meeting time, but they may be brought up to determine CALI equal rights harm.
